In 2006 the then Public Service Minister Sinai Brown commissioned an investigation into the Sambra Haus affair. This investigation was to unravel how a company called Grand Columbia and its agents a Mr.Alois Kingsley conspired with offiecrs from the Office Allocations Committee of the Dept of Personnel Management to receive advance payment for the offices which currently house Dept of Com Dev, GPO, OLIPPAC, the NEFC etc.These buildings didn't conform to Building board standards, and also were not fitted with furniture prior to being occupied. Two Law firms were engaged to carry out the investigation, One of the Law firms Saulep Lawyers discovered that there was massive fraud involved and recommended that charges be laid against the Secretary of the Dept down to the Staff of the Office Allocation Committee of the Dept of Personnel Management. To Date no legal action has been taken, and the senior officers named in the investigation are still serving the government in very senior positions at Waigani. I cannot name them,but Mr. Sinai Brown, and Mr. Smael Manikot who worked for Mr. Brown as his XO knows who these people are, and they should be brought to justice soon, because the longer they serve in the government their corrupt practice will continue, and destroy the good reputation of honest, transparent public servants.
