ACT NOW! believes in an economically independent Papua New Guinea where:
- we share our resources so there is opportunity for everyone;
No one should be locked out from sharing in PNGs development - we are all involved in decision making;
- we protect and defend our human rights and our land;
- services meet the needs of the people;
- we make wise use of our natural resources; and
- we protect our environment so it can protect and nurture our future generations.
This Vision is not new or revolutionary. This is exactly the Vision that was set out for us by our Founding Fathers at Independence and it is the Vision that is embedded in our Constitution.
Our Constitution says that we should all be guided by our National Goals in everything that we do.
Our National Goals are:
- Economic independence
- Integral human development and opportunity for everyone
- Equitable sharing of resources
- Equitable involvement of everyone in development
- Protection of human and land rights
- Services that meet the needs of the people
- Wise us of natural resources and the environment for current and future generations
ACT NOW! members are united in their belief that Papua new Guinea has lost its way because it has lost sight of these National Goals and that if we can rediscover them we can build a better future.
