The three Commissioners who will lead the newly created Independent Commission Against Corruption were finally sworn in on 4 July 2023, and will now start work. This historic event comes more than two-and-a-half years after the legislation to create the ICAC was passed by Parliament.

ACT NOW! has been strenuously advocating for the introduction of the new anti-corruption body since 2010 as part of its campaign to stop the stealing of public funds.

While ACT NOW! welcomes the appointement of the three Commissioners, nothing has yet been achieved and we will not rest in our campaign until the ICAC is fully functioning with all staff appointed and we see successful prosecutions start to put some senior public figures behind bars.
